The Family We Choose

This week, Israel marks Family Day - a moment to honor the relationships that hold us. At Brothers in Yoga, it lands with particular warmth. Because the community that has formed around our work has become, for many, a chosen family.
When people go through honest, vulnerable work together - breath by breath, session by session, something shifts. Strangers become witnesses to each other's healing. And witnesses, over time, become something more.
Our 380 "Masa La'Chaim" ("Life Journey") graduates know this well. They check in on each other, celebrate milestones, and show up - long after the program ends. Research on trauma and resilience consistently points to connection as one of the most powerful forces in recovery. Not the absence of pain, but the presence of people who see you.

This year, a new chapter of chosen family is forming: our first-ever trauma-sensitive yoga teacher training. These trainees are learning to hold space for others in their most vulnerable moments - and in doing so, they are discovering deep bonds of their own. Another community, taking shape in real time.
On this Family Day, we want to say clearly to our friends and supporters worldwide: you are part of this family too.
We believe in the healing power of the family we choose - together.
