In Israel today, the "battlefield" isn't only geographical. For many, the conflict, intensified by the current escalation and a state of war that has persisted for over two years - is happening within their own bodies. At Brothers in Yoga, we help veterans and civilians navigate the invisible wounds of prolonged stress and PTSD.

The Science: A System Stuck on "High Alert"
Research in neurobiology shows that trauma leaves the nervous system dysregulated. The brain's "smoke detector" stays on, keeping the body in a state of constant hyper-vigilance or "fight-or-flight," even when the immediate danger has passed.
How Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TSY) Heals
Unlike traditional "top-down" talk therapy, TSY is a clinically-backed "bottom-up" intervention that works directly with the body:
Interoception: We help our participants safely reconnect with physical sensations, teaching the brain that the body is no longer a place of danger.
Self-Regulation: Through mindful movement, we stimulate the Vagus Nerve, helping the nervous system return to a state of calm.
Agency & Choice: Trauma is a loss of control. In our sessions, every movement is an invitation, empowering those in our care to reclaim ownership over their own lives.
Your Impact on the Journey to Recovery

The ongoing regional instability, combined with the cumulative weight of over two years of conflict, creates a profound layer of collective trauma. This constant state of tension acts as a persistent trigger for those already struggling to find peace.
By partnering with Brothers in Yoga, you are making a direct impact on the healing process. You are providing the essential tools for our community to move from survival back to life, finding an inner anchor amidst the ongoing storm.
